Better known as Minotauro, he practiced judo from an early age. He was the protagonist of a dramatic story of overcoming when, at the age of eleven, he was hit by a truck. Due to the accident, he was in a coma and spent one year in hospital. Soon afterwards he started practicing boxing, jiu jitsu, muay thai and wrestling.

His victorious career as a fighter turned him into a great celebrity in Brazil and in the world. Minotauro has already held the belts of the largest organisations in MMA history, including Rings, Pride and UFC. Rodrigo is also known to be a sportsman of exemplary behavior inside and outside the ring and octagon.

Currently our champion is part of the UFC Hall of Fame being honored as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. He is ambassador of the UFC in Brazil, ambassador of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee and commentator of the Combate and SporTV channels.
